The assignment

Magazine work is a different discipline to event coverage: frames that hold a full page, bleed clean and survive print. Wake photography adds water, spray and a rider moving at the exact wrong angle for autofocus.

The hunt

Peak trick height with the spray fanned out behind, shot low from the water. Energy mode with a printer’s eye: composed for the gutter, exposed for paper.
